2008 Honey Springs Reenactment
The Battle of Honey Springs was fought on July 17, 1863. It was the last engagement of Union and Confederate forces in Indian Territory, finally deciding the area for the Union.
The Battle was fought on and about the banks of Elk Creek where it crossed the Old Texas Road running from Missouri to Texas. Honey Springs, just south of the creek was a small Confederate supply station.
The reenactment was staged just north of the Honey Springs Depot.
